New Drawing: Hair

Hi everyone, this is a post on a drawing i've just finished and I''m actually really proud of it because I have never drawn something with this much depth and I think it's really pretty.

Disclaimer: I do edit my drawings, to make them look as professional as possible but I do not go over the top, I simply clean them up and then add filter to enhance it.

I was actually motivated by a bad art lesson I had at school today to draw this piece. My Art teacher took in our sketchbooks and said that mine wasn't up to his standards and as much as I didn't want to agree with him, I had to because I had been slacking lately and hadn't had time to complete stuff in there. I decided that I'd go home and make my sketchbook better... so I was going through some pages and I did a really scruffy last minute drawing of a messy bun and it wasn't gradable lol. So I rubbed that out and started drawing hair and I came up with this flower bun and then went on Instagram for inspiration and came across an account called @thebraidgals and I found that a plait would also look nice, therefore I did that too and I'm proud of it and I really, really like it.

The photo below was taken on snapchat a minute after finishing it. I post a lot of drawings and the making of drawings on there so you may add me there at: lilmiss_laurenx

Later edited using my favourite photo editor: Photo wonder
Thank you guys a million for reading my new post and stay online for a great Blogmas day 11!

Drawing other things apart from Fashion.

As an artist it's really important to explore different styles of art, even if you don't like them because that's what top Arts universities are looking for - a variety of skills.

So I've been doing some drawing and actually focusing on some other stuff too.

1. The human eye is something I've been wanting to learn how to draw for a long time so here it is. The first one was drawn from a tutorial (Mark Crilley - YouTube). The second one was my own attempt and I like both equally. In terms of getting the real, 3D photographic effect I think I still need to work on that.

2. Fall fashion

It's fall now, so out come the jumpers and sweaters and wooly hats. I decided to add the trend that a lot of people seem to be doing at the bottom of their jeans.

More art coming up, the Disney Tag and a guest post coming up ;). Keep and eye and follow and subscribe to get updates when new posts come out.

Hey guys, this is a new illustration I just completed and it's a mermaid. I was experimenting with colours and it turned out to actually be okay. I used Promarkers and a fine liner.

New illustrations + Fsketcher's Aliya Uten is back!

Hey guys I've been working on some new illustrations today because if Fsketcher! Many of you know but if you don't know - I learn from a YouTube channel called Fsketcher. A woman called Aliya Uten runs this channel and she's amazing. She recently took like a 6 month break on Fsketcher where about nobody heard from her and most of us assumed that Fsketcher wasn't coming back. Well shame on us because it is back and it's back bigger and better than ever! Take a look at some of my designs ADAPTED from one of her tutorials.

The first one was titled Fashion of the future - Metal. Not having the right equipment and only having a few markers meant I had to make do so the reflection of light isn't very good because all I had to show it was a white pencil. I'm running low on equipment and yet to buy new stuff.

New illustration: Scene

Hi everyone, so as part of my entry for the Zyra Banez competition 2014 I've been drawing like crazy and trying to find the right one! This is one of these drawings. I still haven't decided on my entry but we have until June and there is no need to rush.

So initially I started out with plans to make an emo outfit but then I realised the promarker tones I had didn't suit that range so I change it to 'scene' (the happy and brighter version of emo).

As usual, my drawing process: I drew a plan first of what I wanted to do and I decided on a short fur jacket and a Leopard print corset. (I'm sure most of you know I'm almost famous for my corsets :P.

Name of Garment: Scene Leopard Print Corset.
Model used: White model
Time taken to complete: 1hour
Media used: Promarkers, Faber Castell Classic Colour 24, Derwent studio 12, Watercolour and Fineliner 0.1.

Hope you enjoyed this post x

Hilly and Hariet

Hey guys so I'm starting a new kind of collection/story about 2 superhero sisters called Hilly and Hariet Hatfield. Although they are superheroes I've made the collection really stylish and the first outfits I've draw were in latex in a bright sort of red. I got the idea from my textiles homework 'design a superhero outfit with smart and modern materials' so I totally crossed out the smart and modern materials and got to work lol. I'm also working on my Disney princess collection but I don't know which princess to draw so if you have any ideas tell me!
