Black hair corner: Black hair care part 2 --------> Tips

Hi guys! My last post on styles to do with your afro-caribbean hair had a lot of views! So guess what i'm doing another one on hair care!

The icky boring stuff:

The way black hair is makes it unique in comparison with other types hair. It happens to be naturally dry and vulnerable to breakage. When chemically relaxed, it gets even more difficult to stay in good health. A lot of black women experience damage and loss of hair which will keep the hair from growing longer.

So these are my top tips for looking after your hair:

- No matter how ridiculous it looks, nobody sees you when going to bed so cover your hair with some sort of material (preferably satin)
-Weekly deep conditioning helps your hair grow and adds nutrients, it prevents damage and breakage and improves its elasticity and also keeps it smooth and shiny.
- Always use a comb for detangling and if possible detangling cream/spray.
- Your hairline is extremely valuable so look after it. If there's no front to your hair, what possibly are you going to do with it?
  • Do not use harsh gels to smooth it down when having braids in. Yes use gels but recognize when the gel is hard and sticky and making your hair feel crispy.
  • To slick your edges down use a toothbrush
  • Use the most natural hair products you can find.
Below i've embedded a youtube video on how to care for your hair, enjoy x
