What is fashion?

If someone asked you this question would it be hard to answer or would you know it straight away? Fashion is many things. 

Most dictionary's definition for fashion is; 

1. The prevailing style or custom, as in dress or behavior:out of fashion.
2. Something, such as a garment, that is in the current mode: a swimsuit that is the latest fashion.
3. The style characteristic of the social elite: a man of fashion.

The dictionary gives the correct meaning and that's what fashion is but hold up... Who ever understands the dictionary?

I am a fashion illustrator so to me fashion is art. Fashion is different to everyone. For most people fashion is a way of using/wearing clothes, makeup and accessories to show or hide something about yourself. 

People but apparel because it's stylish and expensive. The leading fashion centres are New York, Milan, Paris, London. The categories are haute couture, ready to wear and mass market.
